THE BOOK OF WINDOWS
Lockdown Journal, 2020

I found this old botanical log-book at a car-boot sale back when we were still shaking hands and rubbing shoulders. It became my window to the world during 100 days of London lock-down one, which was spent in a temporary housing under difficult conditions. Making and sharing these drawings became my day routine, and triggered the conversations I trust we both needed to have. The book became a catalyst for a crowd-funded effort that saw me back in my tower.
The book was then taken apart in a Spire Room ritual. I released the pages from their binding, their pandemic bondage. They took flight for a hundred destinations around the world, into the hands and homes of all those who acquired a piece along the way.
